I love this place. Food and service are great. Definitely the place to go during a nice day at the beach, or just on any regular day. They offer take out too which is nice. The location I must say is AWESOME... they are walking distance to the gorgeous "lookout park" (overlooking the ocean) so it's very convenient to grab lunch and go to the park to enjoy. You can also walk down to the beach from the park. The park has lots of benches and is kid/pet friendly. All in all, what a delightful little beach shack.

I love Tinker's. I always have. I've been going there since I was a little kid with my dad and still to this day it always hits the spot. Always worth the drive out to Summerland.

The food at Tinker's is usually very good (didn't get to try it this time), but the service is very bad. Just got back from lunch waited over 40 minutes for food that never came. They skipped over our number and gave the following number their order. When we finally asked for a refund, the cook yelled out this is not mcdonald's you shouldn't expect your food to be done as if it was. I have never gone to a sit down restaurant and waited 40 minutes unless i ordered a steak well done. The cook should really learn some manners and apologize for skipping our order completely rather than imply that Tinker's is not a fast food restaurant when in fact it is.

I love going to Tinkers, the burgers are awesome, the veggies are fresh and the place is comfortable. Tinkers is the best kept secret for burgers, I will take a Tinker burger over the Habit anyday. The staff is always curteous and kind, and makes every effort to fufill my needs every time. This is a good place to hit if you're looking for a quick bite to eat after a long walk on the beach, the only problem is the prices, you can easily drop $15 for a basic burger, fries and Shake. The quality is good, but I can't say it's worth the price.
For the same price of a single meal, you can feed a family of 4 at a fast food place, of course you're paying for convenience as well as ambiance, but there is a limit, I regularly drive right by and grab a bite elsewhere for half the price on my way home from my daily walks on the beach.

I'm new to the area, but have eaten at Tinkers years ago. I called at 820pm twenty mins after closing. The phone was answered with a polite good evening we are closed, but is there something I can help you with anyway. It was perfect. In Santa Barbara we are all treated all too often to some rude I can't wait to get home and party college kid.
