We love this place!, 6/22/2010
Reviewer: Bruce from Santa Barbara, CA
Every table has an ocean view and the kids can play on the beach as you relax and watch the sun set.... But it's the food and service that keeps us coming back... Great Salmon dinner with real sticky rice... always fresh... linguine w/clams-salads, burritos, burgers... it's all good. Love the casual atmosphere. Enrique and gang go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and satisfied. Parking is always easy. Every other week we go in for our fix at Shoreline Cafe... We love you guys!

I go here alot. Because I live 5 minutes from it. Its always a great palce to relax and eat food! the food is amazing, and all the servers are very nice. I like how its by the beach. The food always makes me happy, because its not expensive, and u can get really good food for a good price. I always ride by bike down and just order to go, and it takes 7 minutes at most.

We come from Canada every year and always come here to eat and hang out. The spicy Ahi dish, steak nacho's, shrimp rolls and fish tacos are some of our favorites. Also a fabulous happy hour menu and great breakfasts too! We love Santa Barbara and every trip for the last 5 years, Shoreline Cafe has been part of our visit. We've always had great food and great service here and would recommend it to anyone! It's the perfect spot for a spectacular view of the ocean and you'll often see the dolphins too. We always feel welcomed at Shoreline and can't wait to see the staff again next time!

Always a great experience, 4/15/2010

Just Started to go back to the Shoreline after a hiatus and have enjoyed each and every time I have been there. The location is the best, you can even get a table where you can stick your feet in the sand. The staff has always been friendly and attentive. The food has always been tasty and nicely presented. Great place to bring kids.

Shoreline Cafe is one of my favorite restaurant in Santa Barbara. The atmosphere can't be beat and the service has always been great. It's disappointing to see several negative reviews on this place because we come here often and have had nothing but great experiences. Good Job!!!!!

Amazing New Dinner Specials, 4/3/2010
Reviewer: Tyler from Santa Barbara, CA
It's disappointing to see several negative reviews on this place because we come here often and have had nothing but great experiences. They have the friendliest, most accomodating manager in town and if anyone brought up a problem with him, it would be handled instantly.

They just put in a small menu of dinner specials which are catapulting the restaurant into a higher realm of dining without the prices to match. The seafood bisque is an absolute knockout. The smoked fish special was halibut and we had it straight and in tacos. The smoked fish tacos are incredibly unique and delicious with creative ingredients like apple, celery and cumin and a wonderful sauce.

We tried the Snow Crab Legs which were so reasonable at only $16.99. It was a generous portion and the meat was oh so sweet. Factor in the view and there's no reason why this shouldn't be the most popular restaurant in town.

Good busboys, Lousy Waitress, 3/29/2010
Reviewer: Kristine from Santa Barbara, CA
Just like the prior review, we went there on a weekend (3/28) and had the worst service ever encountered at this establishment. We had to wait for a table due to a SBCC track meet across the street, but the hostesses were adroit at seating us once there was a table. THEN, the horrible service. We waited over 30 minutes for the waitress to even acknowledge us, and that was only because I waived her over. The appetizer we ordered never arrived, and when our food finally came out, the waitress said there "had been a problem with the computer" and out appetizer was delivered to another table. When we told her nicely, "that's ok, we don't want it now since our food is here" we were met with eye-rolling and a grumpy attitude. She never once checked on us during the entire meal, but the busboys did several times. She only had about 10 tables, and the waiter with the other half of the tables seemed to do a good job and care about customer service. Management needs to so a better job of supervising waitstaff, and not hiring folks who don't want to be there. We live locally, but I don't think I'll be coming back here again.

Don't go if they are busy , 3/29/2010
Reviewer: Bryan from Santa Barbara, CA
Went to the shoreline for lunch this past Sunday ( 3 locals), forgetting all about the Easter Relays at SBBC . At 1 pm the place had a line out the door , but we decided to hold out and wait 1/2 hr anyway to get a table . We were seated at approx. 1.30pm and had to wave down the sole waitress at 2 pm to get some attention and to place an order for drinks and food . We were never offered or got any water . The place was obviously overwhelmed and understaffed . The food was average at best , for the same price I would choose the Beachside anytime . (Does a seafood burrito usually have a piece of skewer with 2 shrimp in it ?? Were they running out of fish and scraped leftovers in my burrito ??) Management definitely needs to staff up for sunny weekends and city college events .

WHAT A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!!!, 3/19/2010
Reviewer: Jeff Essex from Santa Barbara, CA
Waited 10 mins to get a seat. waited another 15 after that to have someone ask us for a drink order. then waited another 40 mins for what was under cooked food...the turkey teriyaki melt was basically sliced sandwich meat, with cheddar cheeze on regular wheat bread. this was with frozen shoe string fries that had no flavor. my lunch date had a 13.00 salad that was pathetically small. overall we spent 34.00 total for poor service, small portions and mediocre food at best. **WILL NEVER AGAIN RETURN HERE**!!

WORST TIME TO SPEND NEAR THE BEACH, 12/17/2009
Reviewer: Andrew P. from Santa Barbara, CA
I feel that Shoreline Cafe needs to take more time and careful consideration upon choosing their employees. In particular the servers. No smiles, or even any interest in our existence. I feel that they need to rethink on how they make thier bloody mary. They offer a "bloody Jerry" which does not suffice. People don't know what they like, they like what they know. Will not be returning to Shoreline any time soon.

Over @17.00 for coffee and 4 "alleged" tacos., 11/9/2009
Reviewer: chuck benwitt from Santa Barbara, CA
Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. Generally its been ok. However I ordered the tacos for breakfast What came out were four very small tortillas stacked on top of each other and buried under chopped cabbage. There were also three small containers with beans and salsa. I've eaten lots of tacos, which l love, but have never seen them served this way and at this price...no mas

One of My Favorite Restaurants
Reviewer: Kymberli Drummond from Santa Barbara, CA
I live in Santa Barbara and love the Shoreline Cafe. The food is awesome with generous portions and is reasonably priced. Service is generally always good but can sometimes be slow when it gets real busy, but normally they account for that. Every out of town guest I have ever taken here insists on coming back when they are back in town. Its also a great place to unwind after a long day...with your bare feet in the sand, chips and guacamole and a tasty beverage of choice. GREAT JOB!!!

Perfect Day at Shoreline Beach Cafe
Reviewer: Campos from Santa Barbara, CA
We had a casual dinner after our wedding at Shoreline Beach cafe. Enrique and his staff were amazing! They made it special and provided us with everything that we needed. They have an extensive menu and even though we had 25 people, we all were able to order whatever we wanted. The food is wonderful! Everyone loved the appetizers, drinks and meals. I highly recommend the Mojito and the mexican spring rolls- so delicious. Also, Enrique's staff even served our cake. We cannot say enough. Enrique worked with me before hand to make sure everything went smoothly. He always returned my calls. It started out as a rainy day and ended an amazing day at the Shoreline Beach Cafe. Not to mention, its right on the ocean; the view is absolutely magical. We will definitely dine here again... they made our wedding day complete because they have great food and the best service ever! Any day is a perfect day when you go to the Shoreline Beach Cafe!!!

Best of Everything in Santa Barbara!!!
Reviewer: Lisa Morgan from Santa Barbara, CA
I'm a "regular" at the Shoreline because I LOVE everything about it!! Their Salmon Salad is the Best lunch: and their Paloma Omelet, with spinach, is my favorite Sunday Brunch meal. Their service is ALWAYS OUTSTANDING, friendly and efficient! The view is always spectacular, with sail boat races, surfers, sail surfers, "flying" surfers, dolphins and, sometimes, whales. You can't beat it for a tranquil scene, after a day in my home-office, online Legal Nurse Consultaing business!! Shoreline Beach Cafe is my respite. I'm here every Friday afternoon and every Sunday morning, sometimes, more often than that, with friends, colleagues or business associates.

Great place!

Shoreline Cafe is my favorite all-around restaurant in Santa Barbara. The atmosphere can't be beat and the service has always been great. My favorite dish is the Baja fish tacos. The best in town. The mojitos are delicious too!
